## Why it exists

I have led engineering at Dawurobo since 2021. My team builds the delivery, bulk SMS, payments and e-commerce products, on both web and mobile, and we work directly with the operations team and the founders.

Moving parcels and money reliably across Ghana is hard. Labels are often handwritten, vendors send orders in bulk, and payments simply have to work every time.

## What I built

- **Leading the team.** I lead the engineers who build our last-mile delivery, bulk SMS, payments and e-commerce products.
- **Payments.** I integrated Hubtel payments across the platform. More than GH₵3M has gone through it so far, including GH₵1M in three days for a single client campaign.
- **Online storefronts.** The storefronts we built for vendors made GH₵2.5M in sales within their first two months.
- **The Dawurobo X app.** Dawurobo X is our app for customers and riders. It is live on the App Store and Google Play, and the latest release, 2.5, feels faster and more like a normal phone app.
- **Keeping it reliable.** I found that badly written queries were causing about 95 million database reads a month, and I fixed them. I also handled a security report from an outside developer from start to finish.

## How AI is used

- **Booking a delivery from a photo.** Staff and customers can take a photo of a parcel and the app fills in the recipient, address, phone number and amount. This made bulk orders much faster to book.
- **A growth agent that never sees personal data.** Every week an AI agent drafts campaigns to bring vendors back, and it does this without ever seeing any customer's personal information.
